Oral immunotherapy for peanut allergy

In a pilot study, oral immunotherapy was found to protect some peanut–allergic patients even after therapy is discontinued. Twelve of 24 patients showed ongoing desensitization to peanuts four weeks after stopping immunotherapy, and none reported allergic reactions when contacted at a median of 40 months afterward.
