Children with high-risk chronic conditions had fewer serious illnesses when they were seen in a clinic implementing a “medical home” model that provided both primary and specialist care along with other features to facilitate timely effective care, researchers found in a randomized clinical trial. Ricardo Mosquera, MD, from the Department of Pediatrics and the University of Texas Medical School and colleagues report their findings in the December 24/31 issue of JAMA.
